A few isolated showers, mainly near northwest coasts, but most areas dry overnight with good clear periods developing. A rather cold night with a slight or sharp frost and some patches of mist and fog. Lowest temperatures generally between plus 2 and minus 2 degrees.

SATURDAY NIGHT, SUNDAY, SUNDAY NIGHT : Variable cloud cover, northwest to west breezes, dry much or all of the time - but some light showers in places, mainly over the northern half of the country (where the winds will also freshen at times). Temperatures reaching 9 to 12 C on Sunday. Most places frost-free at night, but some patches of frost likely in southern parts (mainly Saturday night) with temperatures reaching 0 or - 1 C locally. MONDAY, TUESDAY : Rain in parts of Ulster on Monday, otherwise dry aside perhaps from the odd shower. Variable cloud cover, sunshine at times. Daytime temperatures again around 9 to 12 C. Frost in places at night, mainly Monday night. Northwest to west winds, easing off - then becoming southeasterly on Tuesday and probably freshening again. WEDNESDAY (ST. PATRICK'S DAY), THURSDAY, FRIDAY: Day-by-day details not clear at present - but weather expected to be more changeable overall, turning cloudy and breezy at times with spells of rain. Winds southerly or variable in direction. Should be noticeably milder at times too, temperatures could reach 14 to 16 C in brighter spells.
